Admission

 

PROCESSING OF APPLICANTS:

 

After the conduct of information drive, applicants shall be pre-screened by the personnel officers of the NFW, NFS, NFC, NS Legaspi & Procurement officer, NETC taking into consideration the following qualifications:

a) Natural Born Citizen

b) Age

For Commission / CAD


Not less than 21 yrs old but not more than 30 yrs old during the date of Commission / CAD

 

For Enlistment

Not less than 18 years old but not more than 26 yrs old during the date of enlistment

c) Height At least 5’4” barefoot for male and 5’2” barefoot for female

d) Educational attainment

For Enlistment

Minimum -      High School Graduate (Technical Skills with TESDA)

Maximum -      72 college units or graduate of  vocational course

 

 For CAD

Holder of at least a 4 year Baccalaureate Degree

e) Must have no obvious physical deformity/ies

Applicants shall be required to present the following documents

  1. Original Birth Certificate
  2. Original High school Diploma if HS grad only (for enlistment)
  3. Transcript of records / diploma for vocational course graduates (for enlistment)
  4. Transcript of records for those with 72 college units or less (for enlistment)
  5. Transcript of records and Baccalaureate Diploma (for CAD)

SELECTION OF QUALIFIED APPLICANTS

 

A list of all qualified applicants shall be published in leading newspapers at least 2 weeks before the scheduled exams. Qualified applicants shall initially take the AFP Test Battery Exam on the first day. Passing shall be 80 for enlistment and 120 for officership provided they attained at least 40% and 50% of the maximum score on each type of AFPTB test respectively.

 

Applicants who only passed the AFPTB after retaking the exam shall be considered disqualified if the time between the initial exam and retake is less than six months

For NOCC

Those who shall pass the AFPTB exam shall be given clearance to take the IQ and EQ exam the following day.

 

All applicants for officer training from the different testing centers shall be rated and ranked according to their scores in the AFPTB and IQ/EQ exam.

 

Based on the ranking, the relevance of their educational attainment and work  experience, the candidates shall be categorized and prioritized for recruitment according to field of specialization.

Priority 2 - Candidates who get the highest scores based on the AFPTB and  IQ exam results

 

A list of those best qualified for each FOS shall be prepared and those in the list shall be subjected to background investigation and will be directed, thru telegram, to take the Job Aptitude Exam to be administered by Naval Psychologists at the Manila Naval Hospital. Those who shall pass the said exam shall be given clearance to undergo the physical exam at the Manila Naval Hospital.

 

Those who passed all the exams to include the record check will be scheduled  to undergo the NOCC.

For Enlistment

Those who shall pass the AFPTB exam shall be given clearance to take the IQ and EQ exam the following day.

 

All applicants from the different testing centers shall be rated and ranked according to their scores in the AFPTB and IQ/EQ exam using annex “D”.
 

Based on the ranking and the relevance of their educational attainment and work  experience, the candidates shall be categorized and prioritized for enlistment according to each rating group.

Priority 2 - HS Grad /college undergrad (not more than 72 units) who get the highest scores in AFPTB, IQ and EQ 

A list of those best qualified for each basic rating group shall be prepared and those in the list shall be subjected to background investigation and will be directed, thru telegram, to undergo physical exam at the nearest AFP hospital.

 

Those who passed the physical exam and record check will be scheduled  to undergo the pre-entry training.

PRE-ENTRY TRAINING:

  1. All applicants who will be found qualified and fall within the quota will be  directed to report to the PN recruitment office at BNS a day before the scheduled convening of the basic course which is sometime in  June and September of every year.
  2. In case there is a need to convene more than one class based on the manpower vacancy, selection of candidates for the initial course shall be composed of candidates falling on the basic rating groups which the PN urgently need. Succeeding classes shall convene at least three months after every class

ENLISTMENT / CALL TO ACTIVE DUTY:

  1. Graduates of Basic Seaman Course, if qualified, shall be enlisted in the regular service upon graduation and shall be awarded rating classification in accordance with their initial basic rating group classification and the PN rate rating vacancy.
  2. NOCC students shall, if qualified, be called to active duty upon graduation and shall be awarded a projected FOS based on their baccalaureate degree and the existing PN  FOS vacancy.
